Designed around you

Bring the details of your home to light.

A well-lit home has more than one kind of light. Task lighting makes a countertop useful; accent lighting gives a shelf, a media wall, or a room’s architecture depth. ModernTech designs low-voltage LED lighting around the places you cook, gather, relax, and entertain.

Keep the source discreet and the effect intentional. Under-cabinet lighting, toe-kick accents, illuminated shelving, and concealed lighting around an entertainment center can each play a different role. Plan the placement, brightness, color, and controls together so the room feels as good in the evening as it does during the day.

Explore the possibilities

01

Kitchen lighting

Add useful light beneath cabinets and a softer layer along toe-kicks or display shelving. Separate task and accent zones so preparing dinner and hosting friends can have different settings.

02

Lounge accents

Bring a gentle glow to shelving, coves, and architectural details. Low-voltage lighting can give the room depth while keeping fixtures and wiring thoughtfully concealed.

03

Entertainment centers

Frame a media wall, highlight built-in cabinetry, or add a discreet glow behind the display. Choose brightness and placement that complement viewing rather than distracting from it.

04

Tunable white & RGB

Compatible tunable-white lighting adjusts from bright white toward warm amber within the product’s supported range. RGB lighting adds adjustable color. Products designed for both can combine white-light tuning with color accents.

Life, considered

Small moments.
A different feeling.

Examples to shape the conversation. Your scenes and functions are tailored to the equipment and services in your system.

Daytime

Bright and ready

Choose brighter white light for food preparation or daytime activities. Adjust task and accent zones independently to suit the natural light in the room.

Evening

A warmer way to unwind

Shift compatible tunable lighting toward warm amber and lower the intensity for a relaxed lounge or dinner setting. Save your preferred scene for an easy return.

Entertaining

Color for the occasion

Use compatible RGB lighting to add a chosen color around shelving or an entertainment center. Return to a soft white-light setting when the evening calls for something quieter.

Before the equipment

Start with
the right questions.

A useful proposal explains what is included, how it will be controlled, and what the design depends on.

01

Placement & finish

Choose the surfaces to illuminate, concealment details, diffuser profiles, and accessible locations for equipment. Coordinate with cabinetry and interior finishes before installation.

02

Low-voltage infrastructure

Specify compatible LEDs, power supplies, drivers, wiring, and controllers as one system. Cable lengths, power capacity, voltage drop, and service access all inform the design.

03

Control & time of day

Decide whether you want manual adjustment, saved scenes, or supported schedules that suit the time of day. Confirm any Control4 or Lutron integration for the exact equipment selected.

A little more clarity

Good questions.
Practical answers.

What does low-voltage lighting mean?

The LED lighting operates from a suitable low-voltage power supply rather than connecting the LED strip directly to household mains power. The power supply, drivers, wiring and controls must be selected for the installation.

Can I adjust from bright white to warm amber?

Compatible tunable-white products let you adjust the white-light tone within their supported range. Brightness is a separate adjustment. Discuss the desired warm amber effect when selecting fixtures, because the available range differs by product.

Is RGB the same as tunable white?

No. RGB mixes red, green and blue channels for color effects; tunable white adjusts white-light color temperature. A product designed with both capabilities is needed when you want dedicated white-light tuning and color effects in the same installation.

Can the lighting change with the time of day?

With compatible controllers and programming, scenes or schedules can match your daily routine. Manual adjustment is also an option. The specific behavior depends on the selected system and your preferences.

Does this require Lutron RadioRA 3?

Accent lighting is a separate offering and can be planned around suitable controls. Integration with RadioRA 3 or Control4 depends on the exact drivers and controllers. A standard RadioRA 3 dimmer alone does not provide tunable-white or RGB color control.
